Welcome! I am located in eastern North Carolina in Pitt County. My passion and life-long career has been found in strengthening family life. I received my BS and MAEd in Family and Consumer Sciences Education through East Carolina University. Early in my career I taught parent and child development, personal finance, food and nutrition, and more. Through my masters research and personal experience working and completing graduate school full time while pregnant with my third child, I quickly realized my calling was to provide in-person, evidence based, tangible support to families in my community. My heart for assisting at-risk families bloomed through founding Hope Women & Family Services, Inc. in July 2017 where I actively volunteer my time and talents daily.
I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula, a trained Childbirth Educator through Lamaze International, a trained Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International. I, along with Danielle Little and our intern Danielle Rogers, created and planned our trademarked 4th Trimester Workshop which launched in 2019. I am committed to professional development that will broaden my knowledge in the field of perinatal health and wellness for the positive benefit of mothers and families. I provide non-judgmental, evidence based care and services to families in the Pitt County and surrounding areas.
Currently I focus my efforts in perinatal education and advocacy.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you will connect with me. <3 Marcy
"I had a wonderful experience with Marcy as a post-partum doula. She was proactive in contacting me and checking in with me via text message between sessions. She was warm and caring without being intrusive and I felt comfortable with her in my home and around me and my family. I really appreciated that Marcy also began sessions with checking in on me first - Did I have water? Had I recently eaten? She was a wonderful resource for connection to other family-related services in the community and made efforts to connect me with other moms as well. Marcy was very flexible in developing a plan that best fit our family needs for support in the post-partum period."

"My birth experience would not have been nearly as easy going as it was if it hadn't been for Marcy. My goal was to labor at home as long as possible before going to the hospital and then deliver without the assistance of pain medication. I desired to labor in a position that was comfortable for me, rather than just on my back, and I wanted the least amount of intervention as possible. Marcy knew my desires before the day of my delivery and she was able to voice them to the delivery staff when I was unable to (It's a little difficult to talk during contractions ha!). Not only was she a voice for me, she was a wonderful helping hand - often grabbing me a cool washcloth, a fresh cup of ice water, fanning me during active labor, encouraging me during delivery, and she even brought me some amazing protein snacks to enjoy after delivery! Marcy then went above and beyond and prepared a meal for us once we were home from the hospital and brought over several goodies for me to enjoy during my time of resting and recovering. Marcy has a heart bigger than Texas for moms. I have no doubt that my first labor and delivery experience was as great as it was because of Marcy. I highly recommend her!."
"Marcy nourished me with healthy snacks as I recovered, she washed my bloody hands, my tear and mascara streaked face, held the baby while my husband got something to eat, she went and got me an actual MEAL, and was able to communicate my wishes to the nurses when I could not. She notified best friends and family members of what was going on and to ensure them we were all OK. At almost 1 week postpartum she brought us a home cooked meal, played with my 2 year old to make him feel special, held the baby ( of course!) so I could shower and big brother could get a bath. She changed our sheets, prepared us breakfast for the next day, and observed the baby’s latch, which made me confident that we were both doing the right thing! I am so appreciative of the work Marcy and Hope Women & Family Services are doing, and I feel so fortunate to have had so much help during my daughter’s grand entrance and first week of life! Thank you so much, Marcy!"
